We play as Crono, a young swordsman who gets caught in a time-traveling quest after a science experiment goes wrong. Combat follows an Active Time Battle (ATB) system, blending turn-based strategy with real-time elements. We can unleash powerful Tech moves, combine attacks with allies for Dual and Triple Techs, and carefully manage our party’s abilities to defeat enemies.

Exploration is smooth, with seamless transitions between battles and no random encounters. Choices we make throughout the game influence which of its 13 endings we unlock, adding replay value.
